Steps and requirements for becoming level I Fire Inspector

1.  complete Level 1 Fire Prevention Code class
2.  complete Law & Administration class

After completing these two classes you must submit an application to the state, along with $20. Once your application is reviewed you will receive a letter from the state.  This typically takes no more than 2 weeks.  The letter will contain information on how to register for the state exam.

3.  Submit a request to take the exam using proper form
       -exam fee is $172
3.  pass state exam
4.  Complete Application for Standard Certificate and Certification of Employment Forms

The North Carolina Code Officials Qualifications Board meed periodically to review these applications.  Upon their approval, you will be a certified Level I Fire Inspector.
